Google to add +1 [Plus One] Buttons to Google AdSense

Since Google rolled out its nifty +1 button back early this year it raced it’s way to become a huge success. Many online marketers make better use of Google’s +1 more than they do with Facebook’s ‘like’ button because of its relevancy in the search engines.

Google announced a few days ago that in the next month they will be adding their popular +1 button to Google Adsense display ads.

Below is a quote from their recent email newsletter.

…The +1 button will begin to appear on AdSense for Content and AdSense for Mobile Content display ad formats — image, animated gif, and Flash. +1s will be one additional signal to help determine an ad’s relevance and we’ll continue to show the ads that will generate the most revenue for you….

Google is expected to begin adding +1 buttons to Google AdSense blocks sometime in October. Whilst having people’s faces and the +1 button at the bottom of each ad may make ads appear busier, the positive side is that your Google Adsense blocks will become much more relevant to your site’s content thus potentially improving your CTR’s and increasing your earnings.

What are your thoughts on having Google +1 button in your Google AdSense block displays?

For those who use +1 button in posts and pages and also a +1 button in the sidebar of your blog or website, you will soon have additional buttons on your AdSense blocks, is this going to make your site look more cluttered than ever, or do you genuinely think that this is just another great idea from Google? 1. To be honest, I’m just going to leave it be for a while and see if Google + is really going to make it. I’m sure that it’s not going to crush and burn, but it still remains to see how it’s going to work out and what kind of people it’ll attract.

  2. But how will it help Google by using Google + button on adsense ads. You have to have very rich and originally written content.

    • Samantha says:

I think this implementation will help Google identify unique and original content that has AdSense enabled.

  3. Google+ has made it really big and at the rate its features are attracting users its certainly going to surpass other top social networking sites like facebook. For now its adsense, we never know what awaits next since Google has been introducing some great developments.
